Ray Oldenburg popularized the notion of the 3rd spaces as community centers outside of the Home (1st) and Work (2nd) that fostered “anchors of community life and facilitate and foster broader, more creative interaction." The Summit built a 3rd space for SF's burgeoning creative class.
THE DOUBLE MM's - The word "summit" means many things like the peak or coming together. So we designed the logo to relay our brand values.
Cafes usually haphazardly carry random magazines and art, the Summit selectively curated the art and literature around themes.
Our food program is modeled after the French Brasserie where a customer can grab a pastry or coffee in the morning, eat hearty sandwich for lunch, or return for dinner for a bottle of wine and eat a casual dinner.
