Kularts went to Plinth to develop a crowdfunding campaign to produce Maseg, a dance production where indigenous Philippine dance and music is used to tell a story based on Shakespeare’s Tempest. After a successful campaign which reached 126% of the goal, Kularts turned to Plinth to market the performances.
Plinth designed a multi-faceted web presence which reflects the beauty and artistry of Maseg. Since most people use the web through mobile devices, Plinth designed the site with parallax scrolling to make it easier for users to stay engaged as well as optimize their experience. The website’s content was pushed through email and social networks to build awareness about show.
Since dance performances are ephemeral, the website also serves as a repository for Philippine dance and leaves a lasting impression of Maseg. The site also creates a space for future generations to further engage with a past performance.
In order to set the stage for Maseg’s compelling narrative, Plinth created educational pieces of pre-Spanish Philippines. Blog posts of each of the characters were made to add depth and truly make the story come to life. Art direction by Plinth made use of dramatic imagery, copy and video to highlight the nuances of Maseg’s plot.
Plinth helped Kularts maximize Maseg’s revenue by creating ticket packages and continuing to sell the reward tiers from their crowdfunding campaign.
