CONCEPT

Alongside start-up culture, SF has a vibrant culinary community of restauranteurs, chefs, foodies, and advocates. Innovations in crowd source funding, social media, and the sharing economy have propelled SF's food industry into new and interesting business models. The Eastern Addition (E.A.) is a pop-up dinner series designed to accelerate the culinary ambitions of unknown chefs.

The collaborators of E.A. have built iconic ventures that span food, bar, and the nightlife industries. By pooling audiences, the Eastern Addition has an instant following.

CROWD SOURCE FINANCING

Outside of concept and execution, financing is the biggest obstacle entrepreneurs face. Platforms like Kickstarter have revolutionized the funding landscape by enabling entrepreneurs  direct access to a new pool of capital--their customers. EA used Kickstarter to successfully fund the venture.
